Biography

Xiangxiang Xu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Rochester. His research interests lie at the intersection of information theory and statistical learning, with a focus on developing principled methods for data analysis and representation.

He received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2014 and 2020, respectively. Before joining the University of Rochester, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT.
