51ÂÜÀò

Membership Fee Subsidy Program

51ÂÜÀò policy currently allows a 50% discount on 51ÂÜÀò dues and one society membership for any individual whose annual salary is less than US $10,100. This offering is referred to as the Minimum Income Special Considerations Option. The Information Theory Society now has a new program called the Membership Fee Subsidy Program (MFSP), which will both complement the 51ÂÜÀò Minimum Income offering and provide a significant additional benefit for qualified individuals.

With the IT Membership Fee Subsidy Program, IT will pay the other 50% of the 51ÂÜÀò and IT dues that are not covered by 51ÂÜÀò for individuals qualifying for the Minimum Income option for a maximum of 20 individuals. These individuals can be either prospective new members or existing members. The program also will cover student members that reside in countries that would qualify as Minimum Income.

If an individual qualifies for the reduced 51ÂÜÀò Minimum Income offering and the IT-FSP, the application forms and renewal bills should be mailed to the IT treasurer. Once received, the application forms and bills will be coded by the treasurer with a special account number and submitted to the pertinent 51ÂÜÀò department for processing.

Those IT members receiving the IT-FSP benefits should fulfill the obligation to promote the IT activities.

For any questions concerning the program, please contact the IT Society Membership and Outreach Committee Chair.
